- Under policies of the city and the province on tourism development, how has agricultural - rural tourism developed in Nha Trang so far?
- During the past years, implementing the action program of the Provincial Party Committee and the city on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, Nha Trang City Farmers’ Association has mobilized and called on farmers to change their careers in line with the city's socio-economic development program, especially, building a number of models and attractions for production and business visit, community ecotourism in agricultural communes and on the Cai river, Sau Loc chicken island, Nha Trang Xanh tourist village (in Vinh Ngoc commune), Ngu Trang Thon ecotourism (in Vinh Trung commune); Nha Trang mushroom cooperative (in Vinh Trung commune); clean vegetable planting in Dac Loc (in Vinh Phuong commune); Ao Thu food service (in Phuoc Dong commune) ... Besides, Farmers’ Association has also mobilized farmers to gradually restore and form a number of traditional industries and trades such as Vinh Luong fruit tree planting cooperative group; grafted apricot planting in Vinh Trung, mat weaving in Vinh Thai, Vinh Thanh ancient house... Thereby, the Farmers’ Association has renewed content and methods of its operation in replicating collective economic models, introducing new examples and factors that can spread in the emulation movements, particulaly the agricultural model associated with tourism, creating a rich, diversified, potential picture of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa rural area, creating stable jobs, increasing income for farmers, contributing to economic development, and joining hands to build new rural areas.
- What difficulties is the agricultural - rural tourism model facing currently, and what are the solutions to them?
- The development of agricultural - rural tourism still faces difficulties due to lack in capital, expertise and land, so the models only stop at attracting tourists to eat, relax; they have not yet reached professional level as businesses specializing in tourism. In addition, the propaganda and promotion for agricultural - rural tourism products have not been attached importance.
In order to solve these difficulties, in the coming time, Nha Trang City Farmers’ Association need to promote propaganda and promotion for agricultural and rural tourism associated with the protection of the ecological environment; promote activities of culture, cuisine and tourism in rural areas; promote the emulation of production and business, joining hands to build a new countryside; increase training in tourism profession ... In the near future, Nha Trang City Farmers’ Association will submit to Nha Trang City Party Committee and Nha Trang City People's Committee the project of agricultural development associated with community ecotourism in the city in the period 2020 - 2030.
