Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism held a workshop contributing ideas and suggestions to a 5-year report of the implementation of the provincial tourism action program, period 2016 -2020, and 3 years of the action program No. 14-CTr/TU dated July 24, 2017 by Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee. Present at the event were representatives from local agencies and departments, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, universities providing tourism training, tourism businesses and experts.
According to the draft report, in the 2016 – 2020 period, Khanh Hoa tourism has seen significant growth with an increase of 15 - 20% in most criteria. Specifically, the tourism revenue has risen by 5%/year with 24.9 million dwelling visitors, including 10 million international ones. There are 1,113 dwelling establishments, including 125 four and five-star ones. The tourism growth has contributed to increasing the proportion of the industry in the provincial economic restructure transfer, having a strong impact on the development of other economic sectors, especially bringing about high efficiency in job creation to ensure social security, etc.

At the workshop, attendants basically agreed with the draft report and contributed ideas to the provincial tourism development strategy in the coming time, such as diversifying and improving the quality of tourism products and services; restructuring visitor markets, focusing on Europe and North America; expanding tourism experience through cultural programs, festivals and sports; focusing on high quality training for human resources linked with tourism businesses; promoting Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism destination; and improving transport infrastructures meeting the tourism growth demand.
