Signs of recovery
At the conference, Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the provincial Department of Tourism said that the province's tourism activities faced many difficulties in 2021. However, since the last months of the year, Khanh Hoa's tourism industry has proactively implemented solutions to restore tourism, attracting domestic tourists and piloting to welcome international visitors with vaccine passport. During the Lunar New Year Festival, the whole province welcomed nearly 100,000 guests; total revenue of tourism was about 524.3 billion VND. Especially, from the beginning of November 2021 to February 20, Khanh Hoa welcomed 48 flights with more than 10,000 international guests from Russia, Korea, Japan and Malaysia, accounting for about 90% of international tourists with vaccine passport to Vietnam during this period.

In 2022, Khanh Hoa tourism industry identifies the domestic market as the focus and expand the recovery of potential international tourist markets such as Russia, Korea and China. In the coming time, the tourism industry will organize a roadshow program to promote, meet and cooperate with tourism businesses in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City; invite and welcome domestic and international Famtrip delegations to survey and cooperate in tourism in Khanh Hoa... Especially, in June 2022, the Department of Tourism and Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association will jointly organize the program Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2022. This is considered the outstanding event of the province this summer.

Speaking at the conference, Le Huu Hoang - Standing Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee suggested that the provincial Department of Tourism actively coordinating with other departments, branches and localities to deploy tourism service activities effectively, having a plan to restore tourism activities fast, flexibly and safely while preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic, and having solutions to the recovery of international tourists in 2022.

In order to promote the recovery and development of tourism, Le Huu Hoang requested: the Department of Information and Communications consults the implementation of a communication plan to promote Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism; inform quality products and services, price packages to tourists; the Department of Culture and Sports organizes cultural and artistic activities, sports events and major festivals in 2022 as well as series of events related to the unique traditional cultural heritage of the province; the Department of Tourism launches a plan to advertise and stimulate demand of tourism, urgently develop plans and programs to welcome international tourists when the Government fully opens from March 15.
Le Huu Hoang assigned Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to launch a movement in the business community to respond and strongly participate in activities to stimulate tourism demand, research and invest in upgrading and renewing destinations, put into operation new products to attract tourists, etc.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the emulation flag for successfully completing the task in 2021 to Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism; awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in building and organizing tourism activities in 2021; awarded medals "For the cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism" to 8 individuals. The provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements, contributing to the development of tourism in the province in 2021.
In 2022, Khanh Hoa tourism industry strives to welcome more than 1.2 million visitors, an increase of 100% compared to 2021; tourism revenue is expected to reach VND 4,000 billion, an increase of 80% compared to 2021.
