Promoting mountain ecotourism and sustainable development

Khanh Son District People’s Council has just promulgated a resolution on tourism development in Khanh Son District till 2030.

The resolution sets targets to take advantage of local potentials and advantages, calling for investment in building Khanh Son into a new and attractive destination of eco-tourism associated with agriculture, countryside and community tourism, creating livelihoods for the community, contributing to sustainable poverty alleviation and socio-economic growth promotion.

Specifically, the project targets that by 2025, Khanh Son District will have 100 rooms at accommodation establishments, develop a community eco-tourism model in Son Hiep Commune, an agricultural eco-tourism site in Son Binh; receive 23,000 tourists per year with a revenue of VND23 billion.

Khanh Son District also sets a target that by 2030, the district will have 570 accommodation rooms, develop 3-5 new eco-tourism site and homestay accommodations; receive 45,000 visitors/year, 6% of whom are international visitors with a revenue of VND88 billion. The total investment for the project is nearly VND254.3 billion, including VND8.3 billion from the State budget and VND246 billion from other sources.
