Nem nuong Ninh Hoa recognized among 10 Asian records on Vietnamese cuisine and gift specialties

The Asia Book of Records (ABR) has just recognized 10 Asia records on cuisine and gift specialties 2023, including Nem nuong Ninh Hoa or Ninh Hoa grilled meat rolls, according to Nguyen Van Xang, a representative of Vietnam Record Book Center (Vietking).

They include 5 Vietnamese specialties, namely Saigon bread (Ho Chi Minh City), Com hen or rice with baby clams  (Thua Thien – Hue), Lau Tha Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan), Nem nuong Ninh Hoa (Khanh Hoa) and Bun Nuoc Leo or noodle soup (Soc Trang).

5 natural and gift specialties of Vietnam recognized as Asian records include Com lang Vong (Hanoi city); deo sweet potato (Quang Binh); me xung (Thua Thien - Hue); Da Lat strawberry (Lam Dong); and Tra Cuon tet cake (Tra Vinh).

Nem nuong Ninh Hoa is a popular dish in Khanh Hoa.

The Asian Record Certificate will be awarded by VietKings under the authorization of the Asia Book of Records at the 53rd Vietnam Record Holders meeting scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on January 6, 2024. Reportedly, since 2012, the Asia Book of Records has recognized 60 Vietnamese dishes and gift specialties, including Nem nuong Ninh Hoa and salangane nests in Khanh Hoa.

Earlier, Vietking had announced 12 Vietnamese dishes recognized as Asian records by the Asia Book of Records. These 12 popular Vietnamese dishes include Pho, Bun Thang (Hanoi), Banh Da Cua (Hai Phong), Com Chay (Ninh Binh), Chao Luon or eel vermicelli (Nghe An), Bun Bo Hue or beef noodle soup (Hue), Mi Quang (Quang Nam), etc.

In 2013, the Asia Book of Records recognized 10 Vietnamese unique dishes for their gastronomic importance to the region. They included La Vong fish cake (Hanoi), bun ca ro dong (Hai Duong), Ha Long squid cake (Quang Ninh), Hoi An cao lau (Quang Nam), Quy Nhon fish cake noodle soup (Binh Dinh), leaf salad ( Kon Tum), beo bi cake (Binh Duong), bun suong (Tra Vinh), hu tieu My Tho (Tien Giang) and Chau Doc fish noodle soup (An Giang).

8 Vietnamese specialties recognized by the Asia Book of Records were green bean cake (Hai Duong), tea (Thai Nguyen), Tra Bong cinnamon (Quang Ngai), Ngoc Linh ginseng (Kon Tum), Buon Me coffee (Dak Lak), Trang Bang dew-dried rice paper (Tay Ninh), coconut milk cake (Ben Tre) and Phu Quoc pepper (Kien Giang).
