The province’s tourism industry is focusing on building new products and promoting efforts to strive to complete the goal of welcoming 9 million visitors this year.

Tourist arrivals keep increasing sharply

During the Lunar New Year of 2024, Khanh Hoa is one of the localities attracting high numbers of tourists with 206,000 visitors and tourism revenue of more than 959 billion VND. Accommodation establishments in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa are happy with the large number of guests staying until after the Tet holiday. Hotels and resorts with beautiful locations have room occupancy rates of up to more than 90%. The explosion in tourist arrivals during Tet has helped Khanh Hoa tourism make a breakthrough right from the beginning of the year. Accordingly, in the first 2 months of 2024, the whole province welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors, 2.7 times more than the same period in 2023. Of these, there were more than 855,600 international visitors, 5.1 times more than the same period in 2023; nearly 691,200 domestic visitors, 1.7 times more than the same period. Total revenue from tourists reached nearly 7,687 billion VND, 2.4 times higher than the same period in 2023.

In addition to the stable Korean tourist market, recently, the number of Chinese visitors has increased quite high. “During the recent Tet holiday, the number of tourists from China coming to Khanh Hoa has increased. The recovery trend of the Chinese tourist market is quite good. Currently, Vietjet Air is coordinating with partners to operate 10-12 flights/day from Chinese cities to Cam Ranh, each flight has about 200 passengers. Among them, the largest number of passengers are from cities such as Hangzhou (Zhejiang province), Chengdu (Sichuan province)...", Nguyen Thi Chung - representative of Vietjet Airlines in Khanh Hoa shared. According to information from Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, in January 2024, Khanh Hoa welcomed 126 flights/week from Korea to Cam Ranh, 73 flights/week from China to Cam Ranh. In February, there are 126 flights/week from Korea and 101 flights/week from China to Cam Ranh.

In 2024, the province strives to welcome 9 million visitors

The goal of the province's tourism industry in 2024 is to welcome 9 million visitors, including 3 million international visitors; strive for tourism revenue to reach 40,100 billion VND. To maintain growth momentum, the province's Tourism Development Steering Committee and the Department of Tourism have asked businesses to improve quality and build new products to meet the diverse tastes of domestic and international tourists. Besides beach resorts, Khanh Hoa tourism is promoting the development of eco-tourism and cultural tourism products. “We have worked with Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts to build eco-tourism and community tourism products. In particular, in the coming time, the tourism industry will begin to exploit eco-tourism in Hon Ba, taking visitors to visit Dr. A.Yersin's house in Hon Ba to extend the tour "Follow in Dr. A.Yersin's footsteps" ...", said Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the Department of Tourism.

After opening a night market in the north of Tran Phu Bridge (Nha Trang City), the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant units to build night markets to tourists and local people. In the immediate future, Le Huu Hoang - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to research and open a night market in the Hon Mot area (Vinh Hoa ward) and the embankment of Xom Con road (Xuong Huan ward), Nha Trang City.

In the coming time, the province's tourism industry will step up promotion work to continue attracting domestic and international visitors to Khanh Hoa. For the domestic tourist market, the Department of Tourism coordinated with the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to organize booths to participate in the Hanoi Tourism Festival, Vietnam International Tourism Mart - VITM Hanoi 2024, Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Exhibition - ITE 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival and some other activities.

For the international tourist market, in March, the Department of Tourism will host the Khanh Hoa tourism promotion program in China with activities such as working with a number of tourism associations and businesses in Shanghai and Hangzhou; organizing the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism cooperation promotion conference in Hangzhou. In addition, the Department of Tourism also plans to coordinate with the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to invite a famtrip group of Chinese travel businesses to visit and survey some typical destinations and tourism products of the province; organize conferences to promote tourism cooperation between businesses in the province and Chinese tourism businesses... The industry also continues to have promotional activities to attract visitors from Korea, Thailand, Japan, Australia…
