In 2023, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 283,000 Chinese visitors. The number of Chinese tourists coming to Khanh Hoa in the first 2 months of 2024 kept increasing. Currently, the number of Chinese tourists searching for information about Vietnam tourism has risen sharply.

According to information from Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, in January 2024, 73 flights/week from China arrived at Cam Ranh International Airport. In February 2024, the number of Chinese tourists increased, so the number of flights from China to Cam Ranh rose to 101 flights/week. Currently, 11 airlines are operating flights from China to Cam Ranh, the largest of which is Vietjet Air. According to Nguyen Thi Chung - representative of Vietjet Airlines in Khanh Hoa, Vietjet is coordinating with partners to operate about 10 - 12 flights/day from China to Cam Ranh, each flight carries about 200 passengers. Among them, flight destinations such as Hangzhou (Zhejiang province) and Chengdu (Sichuan province) have a large number of passengers. The number of flights from China to Cam Ranh may increase more in the near future."

Talking to reporters from Khanh Hoa Newspaper, representatives of travel agencies specializing in receiving Chinese tourists in Khanh Hoa all commented that in the coming time, the number of tourists from China to Khanh Hoa will increase more. This opinion is completely well-founded when recently, the online travel platform Agoda assessed that Vietnam is the favorite tourist destination for Chinese tourists in early 2024. Specifically, Agoda's search data shows that the search volume from China to Vietnam during the recent Lunar New Year was 95% compared to before the Covid-19 pandemic. Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Phu Quoc are 5 destinations favored by Chinese tourists in 2024.


According to statistics from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in 2023, Vietnam received nearly 1.7 million Chinese visitors; In the first 2 months of 2024, the number of Chinese visitors were more than 536,600, an increase of 658.3% over the same period in 2023. In Khanh Hoa alone, there were more than 100,000 Chinese visitors in the first 2 months of 2024.
