Earth Hour is an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise public awareness about climate change and energy conservation around the world. Specifically, WWF encourages households and businesses to turn off electric lights and electrical equipment that do not greatly affect daily life within 60 minutes - from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (local time) on the last Saturday of March every year. This year, Earth Hour falls on Saturday, March 23. In Vietnam, WWF together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment call on the public to respond to Earth Hour with the message "Reducing carbon footprint - Towards Net Zero".
