Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa attracts numerous Korean tourists

Famous Korean actors and singers came to Khanh Hoa on their vacation, which proves the attraction of the land to tourists from Korea. In that trend, Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism will invite a Korean music group to perform at the 2024 Nha Trang Beach Tourism Festival.

The cast of the Korean movie Marry My Husband with famous faces such as Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Lee Yi Kyung... had a trip to Khanh Hoa to celebrate their success of the movie. After landing at Cam Ranh airport on the morning of March 10, the Korean film crew moved to Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang Bay (on Hon Tre island, Nha Trang City). Here, the actors and actresses happily took photos with the resort staff. It is known that the film crew had a 5-day vacation in Nha Trang. Besides exploring Vinpearl Harbor and watching the Tata Show, this group of artists spent a lot of time visiting and exploring the coastal city.

In June 2023, the cast of the movie Doctor Cha including: Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, Myung Se Bin... went to Nha Trang to relax and celebrate the success of the work. Actress Uhm Jung Hwa updated a series of comfortable moments on the beach and hotel, making fans excited. A little while later, actress Lee Hyeri (Duk Sun of the movie Reply 1988) and singer Rosé (member of the band Blackpink) also came to Khanh Hoa, stopped by a restaurant in Nha Trang and checked in a coastal resort. The list of Korean artists coming to Nha Trang recently also includes female singer Hyelin (member of Korean idol group EXID), actor Eugene (famous for the movie Uptown), singer Park Ji Hoon (member of group Wanna One), female singer Arin of group Oh My Girl, actor couple Shin Seung Ho - Hong Kyung... Images of Korean idols and singers on the streets of Nha Trang, at resorts in Ninh Van (Ninh Hoa town) or Bai Dai (Cam Lam district) is no longer strange to fans.

That effect has partly made Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa the most popular tourist destination for Korean tourists in Vietnam in particular and Asia in general. From mid-2023 until now, the number of Korean visitors to Nha Trang has continuously increased. According to information from the provincial Department of Tourism, in the first 2 months of 2024, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 350,000 Korean visitors, an increase of more than 50% over the same period in 2023. Currently, there are 16 - 18 flights a day from some big cities of Korea to Cam Ranh.

According to Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the Department of Tourism said that the province's tourism really wants to cooperate with Korean actors and singers in promoting tourism. The Department of Tourism is taking steps to negotiate to invite a Korean music group to perform at the 2024 Nha Trang Beach Tourism Festival. In addition, the art troupe from the city of Ulsan (Korea) is expected to perform in this festival.

Besides, in 2024, Khanh Hoa tourism will have many activities to promote and expand the Korean tourist market. As planned, this summer, the province will organize a working group to promote investment and tourism in Korea. Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism and Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association also plan to invite famtrip groups of Korean travel businesses to survey Khanh Hoa tourism. In tourism promotion work, Ly Xuong Can - Vietnam tourism ambassador in Korea regularly supports promoting Khanh Hoa tourism to Korean people. Many tourism businesses also proactively have their own promotion plans to attract visitors from Korea. “Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is a very popular destination for Korean tourists. On the online travel website Tripadvisor.com, Korean tourists often leave very good comments about Khanh Hoa tourism. I believe that, with the current successes and efforts of the provincial tourism industry, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa will continue to be a destination to attract Korean tourists", said Truong Minh Toan - General Manager of Potique Nha Trang Hotel.

According to statistics from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Korea is the largest international tourist market for Vietnamese tourism currently. In 2023, Vietnam received 3.6 million Korean visitors, accounting for 28% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam tourism (12.6 million visitors). In the first 2 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed more than 844,000 Korean visitors, an increase of 50.7% over the same period in 2023.
