Khanh Hoa Province and Lam Dong Province raise level of cooperation

Khanh Hoa Province and Lam Dong Province have many similarities and differences. The operation between the two provinces will create advantages to support each other in the development process.

Specific results

Starting from 2014, two localities have signed a joint socio-economic development cooperation agreement with four Central Highlands provinces, including: Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, and Dak Lak. On that basis, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong have proactively implemented linkage and cooperation tasks in socio-economic development. This is an important milestone marking the cooperation step for mutual development of the two provinces. This cooperation has achieved some positive results, mainly in the fields of investment promotion, industry, trade, tourism, agriculture and health.

In 2022, the two provinces organized a conference to connect goods trade directly in Khanh Hoa and online with the Central and Highlands provinces. The conference included an exhibition of OCOP products and typical rural industrial products of Khanh Hoa province and a week of Lam Dong - Khanh Hoa agricultural products. Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong each have 20 display booths. For tourism, the two provinces have supported each other in information; created favorable conditions, welcomed visitors, exchanged management experiences, and organized effective tourism activity models of the two sides; strengthened coordination in management... to ensure a healthy business environment. In addition, specialized agencies of Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong regularly create conditions and orient businesses to connect and exploit tourist routes and destinations; restore tourism link chains (transportation - travel - accommodation - dining and entertainment venues) according to the criteria "One trip, two destinations", developing the tourism brand "sea and flowers" in a "green and safe" direction.

Nguyen Trung Kien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province assessed that Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong are two tourism centers of the region and the whole country, with many advantages to develop high quality tourism. The two provinces are always ideal destinations for domestic and foreign tourists to visit, relax and experience. Promoting existing advantages, in recent times, the two provinces have developed high-quality and sustainable tourism, strengthening tourism connections between them. Specifically, 30% of visitors to Lam Dong every year are from Khanh Hoa and provinces in the Central region.

At the recent meeting between the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee of 2 provinces Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong, Nguyen Khac Toan - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized that in the coming time, the two provinces would continue to comprehensively implement coordination in the fields of information and communication, investment promotion, transportation, tourism, agriculture, culture, health, education, labor and employment…

In addition, the two provinces coordinate in planning and investment to synchronously develop the transportation system to effectively promote inter-regional connection of the traffic route from National Highway 27C to provincial road DT 656 Khanh Hoa Province - connecting with Lam Dong Province and Ninh Thuan Province after the investment is completed. At the same time, the two provinces coordinate with the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies and units to review and propose optimal investment plans, specific mechanisms and policies to report to the Government and the Prime Minister to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision to build the Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway according to the conclusion announcement of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue in Document No. 679, March 21 of the Office of the National Assembly.

Nguyen Thai Hoc - Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee said that, in addition to the fields with potential, the two sides have been sharing and supporting each other well in recent times such as tourism, agriculture. The construction of a highway connecting the two provinces will create a great driving force for socio-economic development. He highly appreciated the investor who proposed ideas, researched, and gave systematic advice on the Nha Trang - Da Lat Expressway Construction Project. This is an important condition for the two provinces to continue researching the next steps and submit them to the competent authorities for consideration and decision.

According to Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the relationship between the two provinces over the years has always been fostered and tightened. In addition to different fields and specific characteristics, both provinces have many similarities that can cooperate and share more deeply. Therefore, in the coming time, the two provinces will deploy many solutions to tighten the synchronous and comprehensive cooperative relationship to promote socio-economic development. Regarding the Nha Trang - Da Lat Expressway Construction Project, the leaders of the two provinces are highly determined to complete the necessary procedures to soon have an investment proposal report with the competent authorities.
