Boosting tourism promotion to attract tourists

On July 3, Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee chaired a meeting with members of the Steering Committee on the results of implementing the Provincial Tourism Action Program in the first 6 months and key tasks in the last 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of the year, Khanh Hoa tourism continued strong recovery and development, welcoming nearly 5.2 million tourist arrivals, up by 84.9% over the same period last year. They included 2.4 international tourists, up by 216.8%.  Tourism revenue in the whole province reached VND26.000 billion, up by 96.8%.

Concluding the meeting, Dinh Van Thieu requested the Department of Tourism to proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to develop appropriate plans to promote the destination; Urgently provide consultancy for the Provincial People's Committee on solutions to develop green and sustainable tourism; strengthen inspection and strictly handle offenses that affect the province's tourism brand.

He also asked localities to speed up research and put community tourism destinations into operation in the agarwood craft village (Van Thang Commune, Van Ninh District), community tourism sites in Ninh Van Commune (Ninh Hoa Town); on Bich Dam Island (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City), in Hon Lay Village (Khanh Hiep Commune, Khanh Vinh District), and Hon Dung (Son Hiep commune, Khanh Son District); Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association was requested to mobilize tourism businesses to build unique and attractive quality tourism product packages.
