Khanh Son: Promoting tourism development associated with agriculture and rural areas

In recent years, Khanh Son district has implemented many solutions to promote tourism development associated with agriculture and rural areas. Initially, some households and individuals in the district are gradually developing eco-tourism and community tourism associated with the advantages of agricultural development.

Lots of potential

Having the opportunity to visit Khanh Son during the recent fruit harvest season, many tourists from inside and outside the province expressed their delight at being able to freely explore the beauty of the fruit orchards that were laden with fruit; looking to buy and enjoy the famous delicious fruit specialties of Khanh Son such as durian, mangosteen, rambutan, green-skinned grapefruit, purple sugarcane... "Khanh Son's nature is still wild, fresh, and the fruits are delicious. This is also a land with many cultural features and traditional festivals of the Raglai people that attract tourists. During the recent fruit season, we had the opportunity to visit Khanh Son and stay overnight in a homestay right in the durian garden. Waking up in the morning in the beautiful sea of clouds, enjoying the fragrant durian segments right in the garden... All members of our group really enjoyed this trip", shared Nguyen Huu Nguyen - a tourist from Binh Duong.

Ecotourism associated with agriculture and rural areas is identified by the province as one of the five main tourism product lines being focused on. Accordingly, the province focuses on promoting the development of infrastructure, promoting the potential and advantages of rural areas, craft villages, culture and typical ecological environment of localities, in order to improve the quality of material and spiritual life of rural people, contributing to the economic restructuring towards multi-value integration, inclusiveness and sustainable development. With the advantage of 3,308 hectares of fruit trees with high economic value, including: 2,600 hectares of durian (1,700 hectares for harvest), 349 hectares of green-skin pomelo, 38 hectares of tangerine, 51 hectares of rambutan and many other fruit tree areas, Khanh Son has begun to exploit this potential and strength to gradually promote the development of ecotourism associated with agriculture and rural areas. Initially, in the area, some fruit gardeners have invested in homestays to exploit and serve tourism, with a total of 60 rooms currently.
