Khanh Hoa ranks 12th in Vietnam's 2024 Provincial Tourism Development Index (VTDI), scoring 4.22 points out of 30 evaluated localities. While the province is a prominent tourist destination, this ranking highlights areas for improvement to enhance its competitiveness.

The report is developed by the Private Economic Development Research Board under the Advisory Council for Administrative Procedure Reform of the Prime Minister. The index aims to support local governments in developing comprehensive, rapid, and sustainable tourism strategies.

The VTDI 2024 consists of 17 pillars and 111 standardized indicators, scored on a scale from 1 to 7 with data from tourism businesses and quantitative data sources. The main categories include Favorable Environment; Policies & Development Conditions; Tourism Infrastructure & Services; Tourism Resources; and Sustainability.
