The Khanh Hoa Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, jointly with Pegas Misr Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd. and related agencies, welcomed the first flight of Nordwind Airlines (Pegas Touristik Group) bringing tourists from Russia to Cam Ranh on September 29, after more than 5 years of suspension.
Present at the welcome ceremony were Timur Sirozevich Sadykov, Consul General of Russia in Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Abdullah Cankaya, Vice-Chairman of Asia-Pacific Pegas Touristik; and leaders of some departments and agencies in the province.

The first flight with nearly 379 passengers from Moscow to Cam Ranh arrived on September 29. Upon landing, the flight was greeted with a water salute together with flowers and souvenirs given to the first passengers and crew.
The event highlighted Khanh Hoa as a friendly, welcoming destination. It also fostered collaboration among local agencies, airlines, and tourism businesses, supporting the province’s goal of becoming a top Southeast Asian destination and achieving double-digit economic growth under Resolution No. 01 of the Provincial Party Committee on double-digit economic growth in the period 2025 - 2030.

From October 2025, the company will coordinate with Nordwind to operate 18 to 22 flights/month from the cities of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok, Ekaterinburg, Khabarovsk, Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk to bring approximately 6,800 passengers/month to Khanh Hoa. The travelers will stay for 10 to 12 days (some up to 28 days) at 4-5 star hotels and resorts in the province; and take tours to scenic spots, islands and explore local cuisine.
Earlier, Russian airlines Azur Air, Aeroflot, Ikar Airlines, IrAero Airlines, RedWings and Vietnam's Vietjet Air had resumed flights from Russia to Cam Ranh. There are currently more than 30 flights per week from major Russian cities to Khanh Hoa.
In the first 8 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa has welcomed 279,000 Russian tourist arrivals, a year-on-year increase of 294.9%. From now until the end of the year, the number of Russian visitors is projected to reach or exceed the 2019 levels.
