Place for green life
One Saturday morning, traveling over a journey of nearly 100km from Nha Trang to arrive at the northern port area of Van Phong, then boarding a cruise ship for more than 15 minutes, we set foot on Whale Island. The island is located in the Van Phong Bay area. The best time to come here is from March to October annually. Seen from above, Whale Island is shaped like the head of a giant whale, so local people often call it Whale Island. Some people also believe that the name of Whale Island is because whales often appeared in this place before. Whale Island still retains the pristine look of natural forest. On the uninhabited island, there is only one resort with an area of about 2 hectares called Whale Island Resort.
Whale Island Resort is built in the trend of green living in harmony with nature, so the materials used are mainly bamboo. More than 30 bungalows are roofed by leaves and shelter among trees. The sea surface area separated by a row of protective buoys is like a small marine reserve area. Therefore, it’s very easy for tourists to see fish and sea creature by the shore. All guests must comply with the green living rules here. Plastic bags, vehicles consuming much energy, activities affecting the natural environment and some modern games are not allower here. TV, air conditioner, refrigerator and hot water heater are not seen here... Room furniture simply includes bed, small wooden table and luggage shelf.
