Am Chua Festival 2024 opens

Dien Khanh District People’s Committee opened Am Chua Festival 2024 at Am Chua national monument located at Dai An Mountain, Dien Dien Commune on April 9 (lunar March 1). Present at the opening ceremony were Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ha Quoc Tri - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa; Le Huu Hoang - Standing Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Ghi - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Pham Thi Xuan Trang - Deputy Chairperson of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Thu Mai - Deputy Chairperson of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa Province;  and the leaders of some provincial departments, sectors and Dien Khanh District.

This year's festival takes place from April 9 to 11 (lunar March 1-3). 104 groups of pilgrims with around 3,500 people have registered to attend and perform ritual acts at the festival.

Besides the registers, an estimated 11,000 people will visit Am Chua during the 2024 festival, according to Phan Van Thuan - Chairman of Dien Dien Commune People's Committee. The locality has cooperated with the district authorities to ensure security and order and safety for the festival.

Am Chua Festival is a traditional festival of people in Khanh Hoa Province and other provinces and cities in the country.

Reportedly, Am Chua Monument was heavily damaged by wars; Am Chua Festival was officially restored in 1987. In 1999, Am Chua Monument was recognized as national monument.
