Assisting academic pursuits at universities

On the 77th anniversary of its traditional day (April 26), Khanh Hoa Newspaper jointly with Sanvinest Khanh Hoa organized the 2nd “Accompanying fishermen” program, presenting 7 scholarships worth VND20 million each to disadvantaged fishermen’s children to assist them with their academic pursuits at universities.

Leaders of Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Sanvinest Khanh Hoa and Fisheries Trade Association give scholarships to students.

The recipients were freshmen, namely Le Huu Chien, Vinh Luong Commune, Nha Trang City; Doan Huynh Thi Bich Ngan, Tay Nam 1 Village, Dai Lanh Commune, Van Ninh District; Dang Hoang Duong (Van Tho Commune, Van Ninh District), Dao Van Nhi (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City), Nguyen Dai Phu Quy (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City) at Nha Trang University; Truong Nguyen Dinh Hung (Ninh Hai Ward, Ninh Hoa Town) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education; and Nguyen Thi Xuan Dieu (Vinh Hai Ward, Nha Trang City) at Ton Duc Thang University. They are all needy and deserving students.

The financial aid is divided into 2 equal disbursements, half in the first year and half in the third year. “I will save the financial aid, VND10 million, for my tuition and other study expenses and make continued efforts to achieve high academic achievements to be eligible for an additional VND10 million grant from the program in the third year at university," said Dao Van Nhi.

According to Thai Thi Le Hang, Editor-in-Chief of Khanh Hoa Newspaper, the fisheries sector is identified as a key economic sector. Therefore, Khanh Hoa Newspaper has jointly organized several meaningful activities in support of fishermen such as giving thousands of national flags to fishermen and offering gifts to fishermen in need, contributing to implementing the Central Resolutions on building and developing Khanh Hoa Province.

Khanh Hoa Newspaper has coordinated with Sanvinest Khanh Hoa to implement the scholarship program "Accompanying fishermen" initiated in 2023 with scholarships awarded to 6 students. This year, the program continues to offer 7 scholarships, worth VND 20 million each to disadvantaged fishermen’s children. This is a material and spiritual encouragement for students to overcome difficulties and continue their academic pursuits at universities.

"In the period 2023 - 2027, Sanvinest Khanh Hoa funds this program with 5 to 10 scholarships worth VND 20 million each presented each year. This is an important cooperation program to provide fishermen with material and mental support; contributing to affirming the national marine sovereignty and empowering students through education," said Trinh Thi Hong Van, Deputy General Director of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, Ltd., C.E.O of Sanvinest Khanh Hoa.
