Green learning promotion

Khanh Hoa Provincial Association for Learning Promotion has just implemented Green Learning Promotion models. According to Tran Quang Man, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Association for Learning Promotion, the key task of the Provincial Association for Learning Promotion in recent times is to develop 5 learning models, namely learning family, learning agency, learning unit, learning community and learning citizen. The association supports and encourages initial education, contributing to promoting lifelong learning.

Currently, the association boasts an efficient and well-structured organizational system covering localities, agencies, schools, enterprises, armed forces, families, religious organizations, etc., with more than 250,000 members. The learning models deployed in recent times are associated with the provincial digital transformation trend, including the application of tools to evaluate and recognize the title of learning citizen. This is a favorable premise for the implementation of the green learning promotion program in the coming time.

Green learning promotion encompasses 3 key aspects, namely Green Thinking, encouraging appropriate behaviors and actions in daily life, interaction with nature, and practices in production and labor, all guided by a sustainable and environmentally conscious perspective; Green Lifestyle, fostering a way of living that prioritizes the protection of nature while embracing values like solidarity, humanity, cultural awareness, positivity, and creativity within the current environment; and Green Skills, developing practical skills to support and implement green thinking and sustain a green lifestyle at home, at work and in the community. These include communication, behavioral, and digital skills.

Green learning integrates lifelong learning into environmental protection, creating ecological equity for all citizens, and helping individuals and communities take responsibility for protecting the human future from the risks of environmental degradation.

Recently, the Vietnam Association for Learning Promotion has directed associations at all levels to organize activities on the "Green Plan" for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, contributing to the implementation of the national strategy on green growth for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

To effectively develop the green education promotion program, it is essential to first define and communicate its core elements, including green thinking, a green lifestyle and green skills to all cadres and members. The association will develop a specific plan to implement these contents through specialized research, seminars, scientific workshops, etc., in conjunction with the criteria of the 5 new learning models; coordinate with the Education and Training sector and localities to develop specialized topics, educational and training programs on green development, green education and green learning promotion at schools and community learning centers; promote coordination between families, schools, and society in educating and managing students in the direction of "green thinking, green lifestyle, green skills", contributing to achieving the goal of "education for sustainable development", successfully building a learning society in the new period.

Based on the cooperation program signed with 10 units, the association will supplement these contents in its activities; and take solutions to support green labor force training for the aged 16 - 40, especially among the un-skilled labor.

The association will draw from practical experiences to revise the criteria of the 5 learning models, aiming to advance greening initiatives across natural, professional and social environments, contributing to the green development, according to the Project "Green transformation of Khanh Hoa Province in the period of 2024 - 2030".
