Khanh Hoa’s forest covering rate reaches 45.58%

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just announced the state of forests nationwide in 2023. Accordingly, the whole country had 14,860,309 hectares of forest, of which 13,927,122 hectares met the criteria for calculating forest coverage. The country’s forest coverage rate reached 42.02%. Khanh Hoa Province had 244,606 hectares of forests that met the criteria for calculating forest coverage (including 176,430 hectares of natural forests and 68,176 hectares of planted forests); the province’s forest coverage rate reached 45.58%.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development directed the province-level and commune-level people's committees to implement their state management responsibilities on forestry in their areas in accordance with regulations and use this state of forest report to update and promptly report local forest development in the following years; directed the localities with reduced natural forest areas to review, determine the causes and take measures to restore the reduced forest areas. Implementing the decision of the ministry, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee directed the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to take main responsibility and cooperate with related units to implement the tasks.
