Sacred flag-raising ceremony celebrating Nha Trang City’s 100th anniversary of construction and development

Khanh Hoa Province’s authorities and residents solemnly organized a sacred flag-raising ceremony to celebrate Nha Trang City’s 100th anniversary of construction and development (1924 - 2024) and 15th year since Nha Trang was recognized as class 1 municipality under Khanh Hoa Province (2009 - 2024), and the 49th anniversary of Khanh Hoa Province’s Liberation Day (April 2, 1975 - April 2, 2024) at 2-4 Square, Nha Trang City on April 2 morning.

Present at the event were Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Toan - Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Party Committee and Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ha Quoc Tri - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa; Tran Ngoc Thanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Ho Van Mung - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Nha Trang City Party Committee; the members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial and City People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; over 700 representatives of units in the province.

At the flag-raising ceremony, the attendees reviewed the period of 49 years since the liberation of Khanh Hoa Province (April 2, 1975 - April 2, 2024). In 2023, the province's economic and social targets met and exceeded the plan with GRDP increasing by 10.35% ( Khanh Hoa Province’s GRDP growth rate ranked 4th in the country and topped the north central and south central coastal regions); total budget revenue reached 18,012.7 billion, exceeding 16.6% of the plan, up 9.2% compared to 2022; total investment capital for social development was estimated at 71,302.8 billion, an increase of 7.6% compared to 2022; attracted 17 off-budget investment projects with a total registered capital of VND100,865.7 billion, etc.

According to the speech of Nguyen Tan Tuan at the flag-raising ceremony, Nha Trang Town was established by Khai Dinh King in 1924, was upgraded many times and became the class 1 municipality under Khanh Hoa Province on April 22, 2009. The city’s authorities and citizens have made constant efforts to overcome many difficulties and challenges to build and develop the city and achieved many significant achievements. Nha Trang is currently the most dynamic urban area in the south central region and central highland region; is one of the tourism and resort centers and venue of national and international events and a safe destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Khanh Hoa Province strives to become a centrally run city by 2030.
