Khanh Hoa Provincial Development Project Management Board and Khanh Hoa Department of Health are implementing 21 projects in the fields of culture, society, health and education. The projects have basically met the schedules but there remain some challenges that require timely resolution.

The Department of Health is investing in 9 medical projects, many of which are about to be put into operation. Specifically, the projects on Ninh Hoa Town Medical Center and Van Ninh District Medical Center have been about 99% complete and are expected to be put into use in July. The Provincial Center for Disease Control project is also expected to be completed in July.
The project to purchase medical equipment for provincial hospitals and district medical centers in the period of 2021 - 2025 has progressed with phase 1 (2023) containing 4 packages worth VND100 billion; phase 2 (2024) includes 8 packages worth VND150 billion with the remaining 5 packages expected to be finalized in June.
The Infrastructure Investment Project to pilot the smart hospital system and electronic medical records at Yersin Nha Trang General Hospital and Oncology Hospital has been funded by the Provincial People's Committee for investment.
The Department of Health has signed a contract with a consulting unit to prepare an economic and technical report, and planned to select a construction contractor in July and complete the construction in 2025. The bidding for medical equipment packages for the Provincial General Hospital and Ninh Hoa Town Medical Center is expected to be held in June.
The Provincial General Hospital Repair and Renovation Project is set to be completed this year. Some other repair projects such as the Provincial Tropical Diseases Hospital, Ninh Hoa Regional General Hospital fire prevention and fighting system, Dien Khanh District Medical Center, Testing Center, and Provincial Center for Rehabilitation and Education of Disabled Children are being submitted for approval of economic and technical reports with some projects scheduled to start soon in June.
In addition, the Provincial Development Project Management Board is an investor of 12 cultural, social and educational projects. According to Nguyen Thanh Hien, Director of the Provincial Development Project Management Board, many key projects are being accelerated to be completed in 2025. In particular, the Children's Cultural Palace Construction Project is expected to be put into operation on June 1. The project on Le Quy Don Gifted High School (phase 2) is expected to be handed over and put into use in the second quarter of 2025.
The multi-purpose building project for Nguyen Van Troi High School has been completed and officially accepted by the Nha Trang City Urban Management Department. The project to renovate Khanh Hoa University has handed over 5 blocks of buildings for teaching and learning; the remaining 2 blocks are expected to be handed over on June 30. The project to upgrade facilities and build dormitories at Cam Ranh Vocational College has also been completed, expected to be handed over in May.
The project to renovate, upgrade and purchase equipment for Khanh Hoa Social Protection Center is expected to be completed in 2025. The project to restore and embellish the Dien Khanh Citadel relic is being sped up and expected to be handed over in 2025. The Dien Khanh Vocational College project is undergoing cost appraisal procedures to select a contractor for equipment supply and installation and expected to be completed this year. The renovation and repair of the Khanh Hoa Newspaper Building are in progress, including fire prevention and firefighting system and equipment packages. The package for interior equipment, sound, and air conditioning is set to begin soon and is expected to be completed by 2025.
However, some projects continue to face challenges related to detailed planning and site clearance, which require prompt resolution. At a recent meeting with departments, agencies and localities on the progress of cultural, social, health and education projects, Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee urged investors to speed up the bidding, construction, and disbursement of public investment capital and site clearance, especially for key projects, especially on the Provincial General Hospital to become a regional hospital; the Children's Cultural Palace, the Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital.
