3,500 Piaractus offspring released into wild for seafood regeneration

Nha Trang Bay Management Board and the Institute of Fisheries Science and Technology (Nha Trang University) jointly released 3,500 Piaractus offspring into the wild on Nha Trang Bay on May 11 to regenerate aquatic resources. Besides, they also joined the effort to pick up and bring over 50kg of plastic waste to the mainland for proper treatment.

The activity was in response to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week (from June 1 to 8), and World Oceans Day 2025 (June 8) to raise public awareness of aquatic resource regeneration and protection and environmental preservation; as well as provide students of the Institute of Fisheries Science and Technology, Nha Trang University with practical skills and knowledge to support their studies and research.
